Taking awesome Skiffy scans of John Schoenherr's art from the original Illustrated Dune (http://ski-ffy.blogspot.com/2010/08/ill ... -dune.html) that inhuien posted in the Dune Art thread and doin' a quick "Curves" in Photoshop, then saving as a non-lossy GIF
(Just the black and white ones - ignore any "missing" images, I just copy-pasted the links - might add the coloured ones for completeness at some point)

Schoenherr is the absolute best Dune artist. The Defeat of the Sardaukar should be on a cover, it's excellent, probably my favorite Dune picture. I'd never seen this black and white ones before. Nice!
As far as I'm concerned he's THE Dune artist, end of story. Everyone else's stuff is perfectly fine, but he just owns it. Plus he was involved right from the very beginning.
Bollocks, managed to omit Doctor Kynes! He's up now.

Literally just knocked the white up to obscure the text showing through from the back of the page, and dropped the black down to obscure any jpeg artefacts. Not rocket science
Schoenherr is awesome, and these really do scrub up beautifully
This is excellent. I particularly love the Muad'dib picture (with the mouse).
When Paul was three I found him wearing lingerie I was planning to wear for my Duke. I asked him: "How can this be?" and he answered: "For I am the Kwisatz Haderach!" I was proud since these were the first words Paul ever spoke, but now I knew for certain that my Paul was a special boy. I brought him to Duncan's room while he was busy "training" a young maidservant in the Art of Sword-Handling. My Paul shall be the best! - Tleszer
A re touch of skiffy's The Defeat Of The Sarduakar, The goal here was to bring our fine detail but without introducing to much noise, and give it an oil on canvas feel. I feel it's a little off the mark, but in my defence I'm a newb at Picasa.
I've been meaning to link to this site for a while, http://www.psykopaint.com/ sure it just nonsense but there's fun to be had.
