Only the books written by Frank Herbert are canon.

I'm still very proud of The Quarry but … let's face it; in the end the real best way to sign off would have been with a great big rollicking Culture novel.

;)

When I was little I thought that The Lord of the Rings was a SciFI novel about Saturn. But Saturn is the destiny of the spacecraft USS Discovery in the novel 2001: A Space Odyssey. Arthur C. Clarke wrote about an "eye" on Iapetus and later one of the Voyagers photopgraphed a geological feature on that moon that looks like an eye.
Only the books written by Frank Herbert are canon.

My dad gave me this love for scifi and a fascination for space and its beauties..

Being able to see from my pc images of a distant planet like this is just unreal when you think of it!
