Hey nerds!
What's up? Haven't talked to you guys in ages.
Also, I have a question. Who the heck wrote this and does it actually have anything to do with Dune? https://www.amazon.com/Orange-Catholic- ... 1508508720

Hi Mandy. Long time, no see.
No idea about the book. It has nothing to do with Dune but for the title.

Hey, all! Just thought I would pop my head in. So someone HAS seen that OC Bible from Amazon? Are you sure it has nothing to do with Dune but the title? I am immensely curious! I have ordered it, it should arrive tomorrow UPS. I am reading Dune for the first time, though. Tried to read it as a kid, didn't get too far. Even a kid that read Shakespeare at 8 years had a bit of a hard time with Dune! Anyway, good to meet you all!

The house is being repaired. We are in an apartment that the insurance is paying for. I'm at the house at least twice a week checking on the progress, as well as getting the mail and trying to keep the vines from completely overtaking the yard.
The contractor is doing a wonderful job. Received the payment from the insurance company for the repairs now waiting for the payment for everything we lost. (Well, the stuff that I remembered to list). Still wondering how I managed to fit so many books in just the bedroom and its closet.

Fires are awful. My apt once burnt in one. I had no renter's ins. at the time, so... I am so sorry you lost everything. But at least you can get most of it back. Still, that is awfully traumatic.

Hey Mandy! I just got back from a road trip, or I would have responded sooner. I think most of us are still here, but between atrocity releases we go into an extended torpor-state. How's sunny Florida?

Wasn't there supposed to be another of those atrocities released by now?

Forgive me for asking, but what exactly do you mean by "Atrocity Release"?

A KJA/BJ book release. I think the next one is Mentats of Dune or something like that.

Maybe we missed one?

KJA/BJ book release. I am assuming then that they are the ones who relase the Brian and Kevin books that everyone here dislikes so intensely.
Mind you, I am not saying that you are wrong. I don't know, I am 13% into the first novel, Dune. I am enjoying it immensely. But it tells me nothing about upcoming ones.

It's very good to hear from you again Mandy!
Leto II is gone for good, except for OM. The "pearl" was just that; a miniscule portion of what Leto was, and not a compressed version of the whole. The pearl that the worms have do not make them Leto, or in any way similar to him.

Hi Mandy, Eyes, D Pope!!
The next atrocity is Navigators of Dune, published more than two years after the previous one ("Mentats"), and only just over 400 pages long. Methinks the steam is running out on these books.
KJA is still trying to flog Frank's early work through Wordfire, though, which is sickening to see.
And OMG, Eyes, so sorry to hear about your fire! I hope you can replace most of what you lost.

I'm still very proud of The Quarry but … let's face it; in the end the real best way to sign off would have been with a great big rollicking Culture novel.

It's nice seeing you.
Hope you are doing well.

Is your lovely wife out there with you in Vermont or is she keeping the home front safe and sound?
Mandy, hope the heat isn't roasting you like it seems to be doing up here.
Love ya my friends.
Now where is Chani hanging out now-a-days?

Currently at home but we've been together- she came to visit in Vermont and I worked
from home for a while when the air conditioner needed replacing. Hope to see her here
again in a week or three.
