I found copies of God Emperor & Chapterhouse on ebay in this format and covers to match my trade copy of Heretics. I've been trying to locate the first three novels (Dune, Dune Messiah, & Children of Dune) but no luck so far.

Turns out I do not have a hard copy of Heretics, but here are my personal Dune novels vs the classroom sets I have.

and

I also have all four Pandora novels, Eye, The Best of Frank Herbert, Dosadi Experiment, & The Godmakers, all in paperback.

I want to get the newer hardcovers used to round out my collection as well as the Berkley trade paperbacks

Great additions Rob!

I have seen the top copies individual at the half price book stores here it town, but they are always in poor shape. When I see good ones Ill will pick up for sure. I need to get those two you have (book club edtions) and Chapterhouse still.

My real wants are

http://www.arrakis.co.uk/books.html (cool site, various covers here)

the easton press
the blue UK
Pennington UK cover
polish covers

has anyone see this one?

I haven't been here in a long time, but added a few rarities and other editions to my Dune collection and wanted to share.

Up first is the 6 book set from Easton Press.

To my surprise, I also managed to find one of the original cover editions bound in black leather instead of the usual red.
The listing actually said blue, but it definitely looks black to me. Easton Press must have only done a small run of these, because the black/blue copies almost never show up.

One of my favorite parts of my collection are the uncorrected proofs. They are challenging to find and were usually produced in very small numbers.
I was fortunate enough to add two of them in the last few weeks.

The first is the UK proof of Eye.

Image

The second is the UK proof for God Emperor of Dune. This one has been particularly hard to find and I was beginning to wonder if the publisher had even produced one. Now I know.

Even better, it's signed!

I think that's all for now, enjoy!

Thank you ;)

Is there anybody here who lives or have relatives in Israel?
I need only 3 books from there to complete that country too. 2 of them are even on publisher's site who unfortunately doesn't ship abroad.

will pay attention now...

get this,
its been years now but a c rate market opened up for a few years nearby
the aging shopping center was about done for and i guess this guy got a rent he could afford
ended with giant store that he turned his business and then several isles of all kinds of stuff

i noticed most of it had 'made in isreal' on the label and i was curious how this crap ended up here

I remember an entire shelf of catholic themed picture frames

all made in isreal

did you know that a third of their gdp is from trade in diamonds?

I wonder what the Iranian government thinks of Dune? Is it a controversial book there?

There was a problem indeed with publishing it there. Department of culture was trying to censor it. They made several pages of suggestions what has to be changed. Mainly stuff related to their religion and some names. But when publisher started to make some changes they unexpectedly changed their minds and withdrew all censorship. So this first edition should be faithful to the original.

Very interesting. I can imagine a lot of issues they may have had with the books. Thanks!

My friend who translated to Farsi both Dune and Messiah just offered that he could help with buying and sending those two if anyone needs them for his collection. The publisher itself doesn't send abroad. Anyone interested please send me PM.
